E-town launches green, low-carbon & circular development plan
On February 29, the Green, Low-carbon, Circular Development Plan of the E-town Development Area was officially launched.
The plan maps out 20 indexes, 114 projects, and investment of 4.7 billion yuan(72.145 million US dollars), in order to promote a green and low-carbon development path.
Zhang Guohong, deputy director of the Beijing Development and Reform Commission, and Wang Hesheng, deputy director of the management committee of E-town, attended the launching ceremony.
Zhang said that E-town has been promoting innovation, coordination, greening, openness, and sharing development; the enterprises took advantage of various advanced technologies to support the new development method. He added that other districts should learn from E-town’s model and experience to promote the green development method in Beijing.
Wang Hesheng said that E-town is a pilot zone in Beijing to promote the green model of economic development patterns. E-town will strengthen the coordination between different departments and the financial support for major projects. The government will encourage technological innovations, and help promote improvements from transformation of technologies.
