Titled “A New Vision for Financial Reform and Opening Up” and scheduled for June 27-29 in Pudong Shangri-la Hotel Shanghai, this year’s conference will be taking place at this critical juncture of transition and restructuring in the financial industry. The year 2012 was characterized with a series of transitions in which the global economy underwent restructuring in face of instability. Thus, the year 2013 is expected to be an era of major reforms in the global financial industry. Specifically, the challenges and obstacles from domestic economic restructuring and the changing international environment are to present a more complex route for the Chinese economy to move forward. Under these critical circumstances, how will the world economy evolve to overcome these difficulties? Will the global financial reform result in new opportunities in the financial industry? In particular, how can the Chinese financial industry facilitate effective reforms to ensure future growth? As the implementation of the Twelfth Five Year Plan deepens, Shanghai is entering a critical juncture to establish itself as a new international center of global finance and wealth management. Subsequently, many speculate what measurements can be taken to achieve overall progresses in risk regulation, RMB internationalization, market expansion, market openness and transparency. See "Forum Agenda" for more details.
