China, France promote economic and trade cooperation

A promotion conference concerning the Sino-France Economic Cooperation Zone took place at Zhongguancun Science Park's administrative committee on July 4, highlighting the environment of the cooperation zone and its policies.

Representatives from the Investment Promotion Agency of the French embassy in China, Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce, international office of the park’s managing committee, Beijing Capital Land and DS Avocats were invited to attend the conference and deliver speeches, along with more than 50 entrepreneurs from Zhongguancun.

In 2012, Beijing Capital Land entered France and invested to build the Sino-France Economic Cooperation Zone, China’s first economic and trade development zone in a developed country. It is located in Chateauroux, capital of the Indre department in central France. Its pillar industries include: new energy, new material, high-end equipment manufacturing, bio-medicine and electronic information technology.

During the conference, guests learned about France’s industrial structure, investment environment and supporting policies in addition to detailed information about the cooperation zone such as its overall planning, supporting facilities, preferential tax policies and subsidies for enterprises settling in the zone, visa and living information, and policies about low interest loans. The zone will serve as a guide for Zhongguancun enterprises to expand in the European market.

After speeches, entrepreneur representatives and guests discussed the problems they are faced with in investing in Europe and talked about policies provided by the two countries. The representatives said they better understand the investment environment and policies of France, and the cooperation zone serves as a platform for Chinese enterprises to enter Europe.
