Anhui farm selected as national rural reform pilot zone

HEFEI - Longkang Farm, affiliated to Anhui Provincial State Farms Group, has been selected as one of China's rural comprehensive reform pilot zones recently. The theme of the reform is "Creative and Collaborative Agricultural Development Pattern".

Longkang Farm now has Longkang Farm Industry Concentration Zone, which is located in Huaiyuan, a northern county in East China's Anhui province. To boost Longkang's development, Bengbu city, which administers Huaiyuan County, decides to set up the Comprehensive Reform Pilot Zone for the Independent Innovation of Modern Agriculture in Longkang, handing it greater power.

The leading role of farming in promoting agricultural development will be largely enhanced and more preferable policies, projects and funds will be provided after LongKang Farm was selected as national rural pilot zone, said Tian Wenjun, president of Anhui Provincial State Farms Group.

Since the 11th Five-Year Plan (2006-10), Longkang Farm has strengthened the collaboration with China Agricultural University, Anhui Academy of Agricultural Science, Anhui Agricultural University as well as Anhui Wanken Farming Company, closely adhering to the general requirement raised by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Under the leadership of Anhui Provincial State Farms Group, Longkang Farm makes positive contributions to the development of local economy by innovating agricultural technologies and breaking up regional and pattern restriction, greatly advancing the process of rural reform.

Anhui Provincial State Farms Group, founded in 1949, is a State-owned company authorized by Anhui Provincial People's Government. It owns 21 State-owned farms, tea and fruit plantations, and 12 industrial companies covering agriculture, industry and services, with its headquarters in Hefei city, provincial capital of Anhui.
