Guizhou vows to guarantee security of Games

The public security department of Southwest China's Guizhou province vows to take stricter security measures during the upcoming National Ethnic Minorities Games that will be held in capital city Guiyang, a senior provincial official said.

Wang Fuyu, deputy party chief of CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee said on a press conference held in Guiyang on Thursday, as saying "guaranteeing the safety of the lives and property of citizens and visitors is the top-priority for local law-enforcement officials during the gala".

According to Wang, more than 10,000 police officers will be deployed to ensure the games will not be disturbed.

On the conference, representatives from local police also made vows and showed their attitude in keeping the event going smoothly.

The weeklong event will be launched next Saturday and officials expect more than 20,000 athletes, guests and volunteers to attend.
