SHANGHAI - The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) announced on Tuesday that CIMA global final in business challenge will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan province on July 23.

CIMA ended its China local round last weekend with the team from Huazhong University of Science and Technology winning the China champion after its beating rivals from Beijing University, Shanghai International Studies University, Chongqing University of Technology and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.

"We feel very proud of the teams' achievement in winning the national round of CIMA global business challenge. These exceptional students will be on their way to becoming tomorrow's high flyers," said Li Ying, president of CIMA China.

Huazhong students will fly to the global final in July along with other winning teams from Australia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Malaysia, the Middle East, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the UK. They will present a business case to an audience of CIMA delegates and a judging panel of prestigious experts, said CIMA Spokesman Zhang Yaozhou.

"The global final will be a thrilling event with 17 teams competing for the global champion," Zhang said.

The global business challenge, co-sponsored by CIMA and Barclays, is an international business management competition designed to bring out the best in potential business leaders among young people.
