Porcelain festival begins

Ruzhou now is home to more than 50 companies and research institutions engaged in Ru Porcelain development. More than 1 million pieces are produced every year with a value of 200 million yuan. These Ru Porcelain pieces are exported to countries and regions, such as Japan, Singapore and the United States.

Ru Porcelain Firing Craftsmanship was named to the Henan provincial intangible cultural heritage protection list in 2008, and listed by the State Council as the national intangible cultural heritage protection project in 2010.

The festival is sponsored by the China Ceramic Industry Association, China Daily, China National Philatelic Corporation and the Pingdingshan Municipal Government.
