Shanghai Puduo district has set up the city's first mobile working point to provide psychological consult for farmers who are working on construction sites.

A hotline for psychological consult has opened and efforts are being made to set up a team of consultants, said Xia Yimin, director of the working point.

The district has an average of 22,000 farmers from provinces annually to work on its construction sites.

Some farmers who are away from native places find it unsuitable to the bustling urban life, while some feel lonely, leading to mental aberration, said Xia.

"Their spare life should be cared not only materially but mentally," he said.

The point aims to provide psychological consult to help deal with their psychological problems, the director said.

Some universities and hospitals have also agreed to cooperate with those consulting point to give farmers lectures on how to live a healthy life in the metropolis. Books on psychological health will be issued as reading materials, he said.
