A Buddhist delegation group from Hong Kong, led by Master Yong Xing, received warm welcome in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi Province last Saturday.

The group had a meeting with Zhang Wei, vice-chairman of Political Consultative Conference of Shaanxi and president of Shaanxi Culture Exchange Association.

In order to consolidate and enhance the tie between Buddhists in Hong Kong and Shaanxi, Hong Kong Buddhism Association Group paid a trip to the Buddhist Ancestral Holy Place in Shaanxi and hut culture of Zhong Nan Mountain in the capital city Xi’an..

Both Zhang and Yong Xing spoke highly of this visit, which was believed to be of great importance for the protection of the culture of Buddhist Ancestral Holy Place, and to deepen the international influence of Shaanxi's religious tourist resources such as Great Qinlin and Zhongnanshan Mountain.

Dedicated to the friendship between people on the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, Hong Kong Buddhist Associated Group is one of the most influential religious groups in the Hong Kong SAR.

Since the introduction of reform and opening-up policy in the late 1970's, more exchange activities between the two sides have been held.

In 2004, at the invitation of the group, Sakyamuni's relic was shipped to Hong Kong for a Buddhist ceremony, which aroused strong interest and support of locals in the SAR.
