Qingdao becomes high-speed train base

Qingdao: Qingdao city in the Shandong province in east China, becomes one of the most important production bases of high-speed train.

According to the CSR(China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock industry (Group) Corporation ) Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock co.,LTD, on 28th September, Ministry of Railways and the CSR Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock co.,LTD signed a purchase contract, according to the contract, Ministry of Railways will buy 140 multiple unit trains with a speed of 350 km/h, involving a total value of 45 billion Yuan.

The first 350 km/h-multiple unit train is going to be finished in the first half of the year of 2010, from then on, this kind of trains will be quantity delivered gradually, which will support the construction of high-speed railways such as Jinghu and Jingguang railways.

This new generation of 350km/h-multiple unit trains uses the technology achievement of Jingjin Inter-city railways, planing to produce a high-speed train’s producing system with self-owned intellectual property rights that include researching, developing, designing and producing.
