Fujian delegation wraps up Taiwan visit

The Fujian economic and cultural inspection group led by Fujian vice governor Chen Hua ended its visit to Taiwan, returning to Xiamen on the Xiamen-Quanzhou ship route August 15.

The inspection group donated money to Taiwan typhoon-afflicted regions in the name of the Fujian Red Cross. The gesture was to display the nature of the deep relationship between Fujian people and their Taiwan compatriots, according to Chen. The inspection group gained enormous support from relevant Taiwan communities including the Taiwan media

Thirteen meetings were held to introduce the comprehensive development strategy of the West Straits Economic Zone to Taiwan. The Fujian inspection team also issued 10 cooperation measures to promote Fujian’s advanced polices on cooperation with Taiwan. Various agreements on industrial, educational and cultural cooperation were signed for all-round partnership with Taiwan.

Visits and discussions with noted companies and Taiwan businessmen were also conducted to search for in-depth industrial matching and project cooperation.
