500 world's top electronic companies travel to Qingdao

Qingdao: Nearly 500 world's top electronics enterprises are taking part in the 2009 China International Consumer Electronics Exhibition held in Qingdao.

The exhibition, which started on July 9, displays new technology, products and services within the field of consumer electronics.

The exhibition - themed "Invite the Globe to share China's opportunity" - has an area of 40,000 sq m and holds 1509 booths.

It features new products of many international leaders, as well as local companies. These include: Samsung, Canon, Panasonic, Toshiba, Philips, Haier, Hisense and TCL.

More than 80,000 representatives from over 20 countries including Japan, Korea, Germany, Sweden and India, as well as local cities and provinces, are taking part in the event.

Twenty-four forums will be held during the exhibition such as the Consumer Electronic Industry Development Forum, Home Appliances Going to the Countryside Forum and Round Table Conference for Enterprise CEO.

Eight purchase fairs including the 2009 International VIP Purchase Fair, International Purchase Fair and Shanghai Multinational Purchase Meeting will also be held.

The exhibition is conjointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Information Industry, Ministry of Science and Technology and Shandong provincial government, with the Consumer Electronics Association being its overseas sponsor.

The annual event, which started in 2001, has gradually developed into the largest and most influential consumer electronics exhibition in Asia, becoming a platform for world-leading electronics companies.
