What is a podcast?
A podcast is an mp3 or video program delivered to the Internet. (For you tech heads out there, it uses an XML protocol called RSS.) At CDR, we offer continuing audio episodes of programs. That means we’re free AND always having something new to offer our audiences. A long time ago, people used to listen to radio on their cars and on radios. With Internet radio, you can just go online and hit “play” or download our Internet radio (podcast) programs.
What is China Daily Radio (CDR)?
China Daily Radio (CDR) broadcasts to the world through online radio and China Daily applications, providing news, entertainment and learning programs. CDR is an Internet radio station that features a variety of highlights from China Daily and other news sources around the globe, in addition to our very cool original programming. We have daily news and learning shows, and weekly news, entertainment and music programs.
How much does CDR cost, and where can I find it?
All CDR programs are FREE! You can hit the “play” button and listen to our programs from your computer, or you can download a podcast to play later. Go to www.chinadaily.com.cn/radio and click on CDR to start listening, learning and having fun. You can transfer podcasts to your mp3 player to listen on the go or share later with friends. (You can also download our programs from iTunes!)
What if I don’t have access to the Internet?
Some of our programs are available through your mobile phone carrier.
Can I talk back to CDR?
Please talk back to us. We have comments sections, and you can also email us directly with your comments, criticisms or suggestions (or a good joke?) to CDR at radio@chinadaily.com.cn.
Can I advertise on CDR or sponsor a program?
We love advertisers and sponsors, whose support allows us to create bigger, better (and more!) programs. Our international marketing team can help you reach our smart, fun listeners, too. We also can help you promote your brand message with great ideas. Email CDR Advertising at radio@chinadaily.com.cn.
Why is it called “China Daily” radio?
We’re part of the China Daily family of newspapers, Internet TV (videos), Internet radio (CDR) and language learning services. China Daily is based in Beijing, China, with offices in other Chinese cities and international locations. So we have a lot of talent to draw on when we want new ideas and support.
