Goat grabbing competition held in Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyz horsemen vie for a goat carcass during a goat grabbing competition in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Nov 4, 2010. Six teams from around the country contended in the finals of goal grabbing games starting Wednesday. The national championship will take place on Nov 7. Goat grabbing, or kok-boru, games is a traditional Central Asian team sport played on horseback. Competitors try to grab the carcass of a headless goat or calf from the ground while riding a horse at full gallop and pitch it across a goal line or into a target circle. [Photo/Xinhua]
