Shanghai -- German driver Sebastian Vettel underlined his credentials as one of Formula One's brightest prospects by winning a rain-soaked Chinese Grand Prix and giving the Red Bull Racing team its first victory.

The 21-year-old Vettel, who became the sport's youngest winner last season, took the checkered flag at Shanghai International Circuit 10.97 seconds ahead of teammate Mark Webber. Championship leader Jenson Button was third.

Vettel dominated the field to give Red Bull its only success since taking over the Jaguar team in 2004. It was his second career win following last season's Italian Grand Prix, raced in similar conditions.

After Brawn GP's Button won the two opening Grands Prix this season, Vettel continued the unfamiliar look to the championship as record constructors champion Ferrari failed to score a point for the third straight race.
