The bold arrogance borne by the affluent second generation mirrors social problems and excessive public connivance, says an article at news.xinhuanet.com. Excerpts:

Recently, a group of racecars enthusiasts - young and affluent - gathered late at night at downtown Nanjing. Neighboring residents were troubled by the roaring noise. One of the rich boys even threatened the journalist by saying: "I can easily crush you with my money."

The flagrant arrogance reflects pressing problems not only of the affluent second generation and their rich daddies, but also of the disharmony between money and social orders. It's not a new problem; instead excessive social connivance should take the blame.

Consumed by the power of money, the affluent second generation are arrogant and indifferent to law and order and the media. Such behavior partly stems from the downside phenomena of the society such as journalists accepting bribery. Supervision on media practices is vital to ensure justice and fairness to the public. Further, the bold provocation overtly humiliates the social civilization and harmony. Wealth is supposed to create civilization, not mental degradation.
