After receiving my identification card, I finally got to know my title -- Spectator Services Administrator Supervisor. My job is to encourage my fellow volunteers and hold meetings before and after a day's work. I did a lot of preparations before going to Juyongguan to get ready for our work. I spent a lot of time preparing on how to encourage my co-workers, how to hold the meetings and how to help the manager accomplish each task.

Volunteers at Juyongguan Great Wall.

On August 11, the whole team went to Juyongguan and we began to get familiar with the environment we are going to work in. We should at least know what each building is used for and how the spectators can get there efficiently. I have to make full preparations for the whole team and in this way I found the importance of my work. Actually, each of us is doing something important for the Games.

Each day, after arriving at Juyongguan, I organize my co-workers by getting them to sign their names. After that, the whole team goes to the meeting-place, waiting for the plan for the day. At the same time, the team leaders and I go to the manager's office to have the first meeting of the day to begin the whole day's work.

After that, we go back to the meeting-place and share the information we receive from the manager. Then, the team leaders lead the volunteers to their working station and begin to work for the whole day. The days are so hot that some of the volunteers get sun burned on their faces. But they never say hurt or are tired at all. One of them even injured her leg while climbing the stairs. I told her to go back to the meeting-place to rest. But she refused and continued with her work. How can one not be moved by their determined spirits?

At lunch time, the volunteers have to eat in rotation. It's really difficult for those who work on the hill. They have to get down, have the lunches and get back as quickly as they can to replace others. During the end of a day's work, we hold a meeting to talk about what happened during the day and get ready for the next day's work.

We play some games after a day's work.

If we have the time to get together and rest, I organize the whole team to play some games. The volunteers not only get to relax, but also develop cooperation among them.

The Olympics are coming so we have to make full preparations for the Games. Even though it's hard, we'll stick to it and finish it as best we can.

I participate, I contribute, and I enjoy doing what I do.
