Kunming held the Second Mosuo Cultural Forum on April 4, according to Kunming Daily.

Under the theme of "Time Changing and Cultural Memory", several dozen experts attended the forum to discuss how to carry forward the Mosuo culture.

Around 15,000 Mosuo people currently live in the vicinity of Lugu Lake in Yunnan province, most of whom belong to the Naxi ethnic group. The local culture of Mosuo people is vastly different from others, especially in regards to the ancient family structure which is considered to be the last realm of matriarchy. Mosuo ancient culture, such as farming, hieroglyphics, folk customs, religions, and original architecture, are considered to be mysterious and attract a number of outsiders.

At the forum, the book My Pilgrimage was released. It is written by He Shaoquan, a Mosuo and director of the Yunnan Oriental Mosuo Culture Research Center. In the book, the author discloses the mysterious Mosuo culture through his own life experiences.
