Lake of women kingdom

Lugu Lake is located between Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture of Sichuan province and Ninglang Yi autonomous county of Lijiang city, Yunnan province. It is 2,690 meters high with an area of 48.45 square kilometers. The residents around the lake are mainly Mosuo and Naxi people. As Mosuo people still practice matriarchal traditions, Lugu Lake is also called the lake of women's kingdom. The best season to visit Lugu Lake is spring and summer.
