Lugu Lake, also known as Lianghai Lake, is a mysterious women’s kingdom featuring China's last surviving matriarchal culture.
The lake is located in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau with an elevation of 2,690 meters. It’s the highest lake in Yunnan province and one of China's purest plateau lakes.
In China, more and more cities are fast-paced and busy. People from big cities tired of fast-paced lives are seeking out peace in silent places just like Lugu Lake.
As winter comes, the gulls migrate to Lugu Lake. Taking a walk around the lake might be a good choice in the early morning to enjoy the gulls and wild ducks.
