Yiliang county, in the middle of Yunnan, had a population of 410,000 in 2012, with an area of 1,886 square kilometers. The local weather is optimum–summers which are not too hot and winters not too cold. The annual average temperature is 16.3 C. In 2010, it was recognized for its scientific and technological advancement.
Its GDP amounted to 7.05 billion yuan ($1.14 billion) in 2008, up 14 percent from 2007. The primary industries, including farming, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery and their services,ies achieved up to 2.14 billion yuan in added value; the secondary industries including mining, manufacturing, production and supply of electric power, gas and water, achieved up to 2.07 billion yuan in added value; and the service industry, or the service industry achieved up to 2.85 billion yuan inadded value. Per capita GDP was 16,690 yuan, increasing 14 percent from the previous year. The general financial revenue achieved 566 million yuan, a growth of 28 percent over the last year.
