Companies from the Urumqi High-tech Industrial Development Zone (UHDZ) have achieved a great performance during the Urumqi Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on July 21.

The competition attracted 313 local companies in the fields of digital information, advanced manufacturing and new energy to take part.

Some 11 out of 21 enterprises from the high-tech zone have entered the finals. Xinjiang Zijin Chuansuo High-tech Agriculture Co Ltd took first prize in the startups group at the competition and Xinjiang Xunda Zhongtian Information Technology Co Ltd won the top honor in the best growing company category.

The competition, co-hosted by the Urumqi Science & Technology Bureau, Urumqi Financial Bureau and Urumqi Economic and Information Commission, aims to enliven innovation and entrepreneurship and improve the competitiveness of local startups in Urumqi.
