This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

As a national high-tech zone, Urumqi State High-tech Industrial Zone has gained many achievements in the past few years, adding to the region’s memorable moment.

Since 2011, the zone’s annual revenue has grown by 20 percent and in 2014, exceeded 9 billion yuan ($1.45 billion). The zone has contributed 363 million yuan into social tension prevention and has attracted a total investment of 60 billion yuan.

In 2014, the zone was home to as many as 115 high-tech enterprises, becoming the region’s first industrial zone with more than 100 high-tech enterprises. Through tremendous effort, the zone has become the only national talents cultivation demonstration site in Northwest China.
