Karamay promotes public cultural service system

A delegation made up of more than 60 government officials from Baotou city in the Inner Mongolian autonomous region and 12 prefecture-level cities of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region came to Karamay to visit its public cultural service system on July 3.

The visiting group was shown around Karamay's cultural center, library, science and technology museum and the Karamay Cultural Industry Zone, the exhibition hall and Karamay No 1 oil well scenic spot.

Zhang Jianguo, a vice director of the Baotou culture and press bureau, said that Baotou can learn from Karamay’s high quality cultural facilities and thorough cultural service.

Li Chaoyang, deputy director of the public office of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region’s Cultural Department remarked that Karamay has improved its cultural profile by developing the demonstration area of the national public cultural services system, and that Karamay's experience can be adopted by other cities.
