The Karamay Culture Hall was completed in August 2014. The building is 21 meters high and has an overall area of 27,200 square meters.

It has a seniors' college, an art gallery, a research and protection center for non-material cultural relics, and studios for dancers and photographers.

Since March 21, the hall has offered free training to people, including musical instrument instruction, street and other kinds of dancing, drawing, calligraphy, photography, singing and reciting.

The central hall, 23 meters high with a glass ceiling, has become a prime venue for yoga and international standard ballroom dancing.

Director Wu Kechang notes that the hall hosts performances all the year round. "With so many performances and interactive activities, people can easily find something that they are interested in at the Karamay Culture Hall," said Wu.

The hall is planning to attract more regional cultural events, such as cross talk and operas.
