Twenty-five area residents, of various ages and occupations, took a trip to visit the Lucheng Diary Factory for a series of workshops on July 5. Workshops included diary farming, foraging, and milk production.
“We enjoy Lucheng milk every day! After looking over its production process, we can trust its good quality. I want to visit its new workshop, too,” said Zhao Yuhu, a retired worker.
“We are willing to welcome residents to our company to witness the production process and hear their reasonable suggestions,” said Jiang Jie, deputy chief of Party-masses Department.
The milk cows in Lucheng Dairy Factory enjoy 400 hectares of alfalfa, which are harvested three times each year. The cow dung acts as fertilizer for alfalfa instead of using chemical fertilizer and pesticides. The Lucheng Dairy Factory mix the alfalfa with corn flour and other nutrients to avoid picky eaters.
The milking process begins with a 40 second massage. Then the milker can go to work; 15 minutes each time, three times each day. The factory automatically adds kernels into the yogurt to avoid pollution.
Lucheng factory is regularly open to the public so any resident can go and learn about the milking process.
