Shenyang to launch special trains for winter sightseeing

China Railway Shenyang Group Co Ltd will launch more than 20 special trains for winter sightseeing during the 2020 Spring Festival travel season, according to local reports.

The trains will travel to winter tourism hotspots such as Snow Town in Heilongjiang province, and Changbai Mountain and Chagan Lake in Jilin province.

Unlike ordinary trains, the special trains will offer fixed sleeping berths for passengers, allowing them to sleep at night and visit tourist attractions during the day. Passengers will not have to take a lot of luggage on these trips.

Also, Shenyang group will run trains from Beijing to Baishan city in Jilin province, allowing Beijingers to travel directly to Changbai Mountain without having to transfer from Tonghua or Shenyang, officials said.

The 2020 Spring Festival travel season will last for 40 days, during which Shenyang group is expected to handle 27.8 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 3.5 percent.
