A tourism promotional activity for the city of Quzhou in East China’s Zhejiang province was held in Shenyang, in Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Aug 27.
Located in Zhejiang province in the upper reaches of the Qiantang River, Quzhou has long been known as the gateway to the four provinces of Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi and Anhui.
As a nationally renowned historic and cultural city and one of the first national leisure areas, Quzhou boasts more than 150 tourist attractions.
They include Jianglang Mountain, a provincial-level tourist resort, Qianjiangyuan national park and the Longyou Grottos – mysterious man-made caves made in ancient times. Scientists from around the world are at a loss as to why the grottos were made, or even who made them.
To attract Shenyang tourists, Quzhou officials at the activity offered free entry to 14 key attractions for Shenyang residents, from Sept 1-30.
