A photography exhibition themed around Guizhou province opened in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Aug 29.

The exhibition has already been held in Shanghai, Guizhou province, Beijing, and Dalian.

The exhibition displays more than 500 photographs showcasing Guizhou province’s development since 1949 in areas such as environmental improvement, poverty reduction, tourism development, protection of intangible cultural heritage items, and the development of the big data and healthcare sectors.

It is divided into four parts themed around conquering poverty, beautiful landscapes in Guizhou, social and economic development, and poverty alleviation cooperation between Liaoning province’s Dalian city and Guizhou province’s Liupanshui city.

In 1996, Dalian and Liupanshui began cooperating in poverty alleviation in Liupanshui. Liaoning and Dalian have since spent 370 million yuan ($51.8 million) in the city on nearly 600 projects.

In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the exhibition is also sharing poverty reduction experience and working to deepen ties between Guizhou and Liaoning provinces.
