Liaoning reading festival ends

Liaoning province’s eighth reading festival came to a close in Shenyang, the province’s capital, on June 30.

The reading festival started on April 23 and ran for more than two months. Around 30 million people participated in the event.

The province organized a number of activities during the festival, such as introducing classics, releasing new books, hosting lectures and seminars, promoting digital reading, and carrying out patriotic education.

The festival was aimed at making people more cultured and encouraging them to read more.

During the closing ceremony, 40 people, 10 reading places, and 20 organizations were honored for helping to promote reading and organizing activities.
