The forum was co-organized by the Gerontological Society of China (GSC) and Taishan Medical University, and themed on chronic disease prevention and healthcare services.

Some 11 Chinese medical scientists and 19 overseas experts, as well as many other professionals gave more than 60 academic lectures over the two-days forum.

The topics covered many urgent and prospective issues, including the relationship between chronic disease and traditional Chinese medicine health cultivation, gerontology and construction of health in China.

Besides academic exchanges, the speakers at the forum were also invited to give talks to popularize common sense in healthcare for local residents.

A health industry expo for the aged and health service industry was also held to bring about opportunities for the development of the health industry.
