The coordination meeting of "Hometown of Confucius, Shandong China" coverage activity of national famous historical and cultural cities is held in Jinan.

"Hometown of Confucius, Shandong China" coverage activity of national famous historical and cultural cities will be held from September 15 to 19, which is divided into two lines: the south line and the north line. The south line covers Jinan, Liaocheng, Tai'an, Qufu and Zoucheng, while the north line contains Linzi, Qingzhou, Penglai, Yantai and Qingdao, according to Chen Qiang, vice director of the Information Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government, who introduced the implementation plan of the activity at the coordination meeting on August 21.

Shandong province now has a total of ten national famous historical and cultural cities since Qufu was approved as one of the first batch of national famous historical and cultural cities in 1982. The coverage activity will focus on the ten cities' distinctive features, heritage protection as well as the development and utilization of their cultural tourist resources, aiming at exploring and developing the time value of excellent traditional culture, as well as promoting Shandong culture to the world.

The activity is jointly hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Party Committee, the Information Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government, Shandong Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-rural Development, Shandong Provincial Department of Culture, Shandong Provincial Tourism Administration and Shandong Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, and exclusively organized by sdchina.com.
