Taishan district, Tai'an lies in the middle of East China's Shandong province. It is the political, economic, scientific, technological, and cultural center of the city, where the Tai'an Municipal Party Committee and the Tai'an Municipal People's Government are also located. The district borders Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, and Qufu, the hometown of Confucius. The district covers a total area of 336.8 square kilometers and has a total population of 760,100.In 2020, the district's GDP reached 47.37 billion yuan ($7.32 billion).

Taishan district has been a talent hotspot since ancient times, today it remains a hub for science, education, and culture. It has 14 institutions of higher education, among which six are colleges and universities, 49 are trade schools, and more than 80 are technical and special schools.

In addition, foreign economic relations and trade in the city have developed rapidly due to the proper utilization of foreign investment. Imports and exports, foreign contracted projects, and labor service cooperation have all shown strong growth, and foreign economic and trade cooperation has strong future potential. The city sees at least 300 million yuan in trade and investment every year.
