Mount Wutai streamlines tourism service

Mount Wutai has completed a two-year standardization process designed to ensure facilities and services at the scenic spot meet national standards, according to report from china.com.cn.

The pilot gained approval from officials of the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China (SAC) and Quality Supervision Bureau of Shanxi Province with a score of 93.5 on Sept 2.

The investigation team committed a thorough examination and impartial assessment of the project through reports, field surveys, references, consultation and reviewing its operating records.

Mount Wutai has made strenuous attempts to improve its services since being listed as a national service standardization pilot in 2014.

Management of the site conducted a serious study of the problems and worked out detailed solutions.

To scenic spot also gained technical support from specialized research institutes concerning training, service manuals and posters designs as well as launch of the service platform.

The leadership team of the standardization project also dispatched people to carry out constant follow-up checks to insure problems did not reoccur.

Standardization is essential for tourism services so to ensure a quality and consistent experience for visitors.

Visitor and revenue at Mount Wutai have increased dramatically in recent years. In 2015, the scenic spot brought in 5.08 billion yuan ($754.2 million) in revenue.
