Shanxi welcomes makers’ space

The city of Yangquan, Shanxi province announced the opening of an assembly-area for “chuangke”, or makers’ space, on Sept 24, with the first group of at least 10 companies and entrepreneurial teams having settled in.

The 2,000-square-meter space is run by the city’s Chuangke Electronic Technology Co, and is expected to serve more than 30 start-ups and teams and to provide more than 300 jobs in its initial phase. It has an office building and the necessary facilities and a site for exchanging ideas with various services, such as new business development, training, promotions, and consultations.

The focus is on support for Internet-oriented micro-businesses and e-commerce companies and efficient management. It also combines online and offline resources in looking for business opportunities for companies in the area.
