Painting donation warms up 6th China • Mount Wutai International Tourism Culture Month

A painting donation ceremony was held in Shuxiang Temple, Mount Wutai on June 23 where Wang Jiange, a famous painter donated a painting titled "Buddhist holyland-Mount Wutai" to Suxiang Temple's permanent collection.

Yan Yuzhang, deputy secretary of Mount Wutai Administration Committee; Wang Wenzhong, deputy secretary, deputy secretary of Mount Wutai district; and Zhang Zhibin, office director of Mount Wutai district committee attended the ceremony. Media representatives from local news center, TV station and sohu.com also attended the event.

The ceremony was chaired by An Jianhua, chairman of Literary Federation of Mount Wutai.

The painting donation ceremony was hosted by the Literary Federation of Mount Wutai and gained support from local officials and masters in Shuxiang Temple.

Yan Yuzhang, deputy secretary of Mount Wutai Administration Committee delivered a speech. He said that the donation was a great preheating for the coming 6th China • Mount Wutai International Tourism Culture Month and promoted the development of painting industry of Mount Wutai.

The painting "Buddhist holyland-Mount Wutai" was inspired by an overlook from the top of Mount Wutai when the whole mountain was shrouded in a hazy fog. It took him half a year to finish the huge painting. It integrated traditional Chinese and oil painting techniques to capture the beauty and spirit of Mount Wutai.

Wang Jiange, a council member of Arts Exchange Center, China Federation of Painting and Calligraphy and Hehe Painting Academy, was born in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, and graduated from the Department of Traditional Chinese painting at China's Calligraphy & Painting International University. With forty years of experience, he specializes in huge landscapes, as well as flowers and calligraphy. His works are delicately beautiful and have won several gold medals at national and provincial painting competitions.
