Pingyao to be twinned with Russian city

Pingyao county signed a preliminary agreement with a delegation from Kyakhta, Russia to establish a sister city relationship, on Feb 18.

The group later visited major tourist attractions and companies across Pingyao county.

The two sides discussed forming partnerships to sell and market farm produce, cultural products, tourism destinations, education and traditional Chinese medicine, following a meeting focusing on collaboration in trade, culture and tourism.
