To strengthen trade and economic partnerships with countries and regions along the Belt and Road, Shanxi province organized 16 local companies to exhibit some 220 kinds of products at the 24th China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair that opened in Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province, on July 5.

Combining image promotion and business exhibition, Shanxi showcased its business environment, investment policies and new technologies meeting the West China market demand. Shanxi specialties featuring Silk Road, intangible cultural heritage products, products in the biotechnology, traditional manufacturing, textile and modern agriculture fields were on display at the fair.

"Over 10 companies, including a tea dealer from Shaanxi province, have been negotiating with our company, showing great interest in our iron kettles." said Lei Jinfeng, general manager of Jinyifang Culture Development Co based in Jincheng city, Shanxi province.

"We hope to cooperate with more businesspeople through the fair and make our products gain more market shares in Northwest China," Lei added.

Lanzhou is a vital stop in the Silk Road. Taking advantage of the westward platform, Shanxi aims to promote local brands and quality products to central Asia and countries along the Belt and Road as well as seek opportunities for establishing partnerships with businesspeople from countries along the Belt and Road at the fair, according to Jiao Yufeng, director of Shanxi Board of Investment Promotion.

Under the theme of "furthering economic and trade cooperation, co-building green Silk Road", this year's Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair set up six exhibitions areas including areas for Silk Road international collaboration, environmental protection and advanced manufacturing, attracting nearly 30,000 businesspeople from 41 countries such as Singapore, South Korea, Australia and one international organization, ASEAN.
