Shanxi will begin applying internet technology to the management and operation of grain depots in 2017 to update its grain storage and circulation systems, according to the provincial conference on grain circulation in 2016 held on Feb 16.
E-commerce integration platforms covering local grain trade centers and wholesale markets will be constructed. The province will establish a provincial electronic transaction platform for grains and advance the online trade of corn.
Internet and network technologies will be applied to the manage local major grain processing companies, grain emergency distribution centers and fields such as transportation, quality examinations and the security monitoring of storehouses.
"Upgrading and reconstructing depots will accelerate the informatization of the grain industry," said Ding Wenlu, director of the provincial bureau of grain.
Shanxi will also advance the construction of grain industrial parks integrating processing, storage, logistics and both online and offline trade.
In 2016 Shanxi purchased 6.90 million tons of grain and stored 2.3 million tons. There were 1,557 grain supply sites, 128 processing businesses and 101 distribution centers across the province.
