A conference to discuss the creation of a World Wisdom Day was held at Mount Wutai on the birthday of Bodhisattva Manjusri (Wenshu in Chinese) on May 10, attracting many renowned Buddhist scholars and experts.

The monks agreed unanimously on the World Wisdom Day proposal and further brainstormed ways of promoting it to the public.

The plan was first initiated in 2015 by Master Rurui, vice president of The Buddhist Association of China, where she said that the wisdom day would help people learn from Bodhisattvas Manjusri and explore their own wisdom.

Those attending the conference agreed that Wisdom Day could act as a reminder for people to seek relief from their anxieties and regain calmness in life.

Among Buddhism's four Bodhisattvas, Manjusri is well known for his profound wisdom and ideas, it is said he lived at Mount Wutai to practice the Buddhist doctrine.

The forum also discussed other topics, such as "wisdom and life". They shared a common wish to adopt wisdom in daily life in order to create a more harmonious world.
