According to Han, the monument and memorial for the "Hundred Regiments", a major campaign of the National Revolutionary Army divisions against the Imperial Japanese Army in 1940, was erected in the city.

Han said the city has improved its tourist facilities and service to meet the increasing demand of all kinds of tour groups.

Yangquan city is in the eastern part of Shanxi province, west of Taihang Mountain, covering 4,451 square kilometers. It is one of Shanxi’s "national garden cities".
