Fair focuses on Shanxi's thermal coal trade

The 2015 Shanxi Thermal Coal Trade Fair kicked off at the China (Taiyuan) Coal Transaction Center on Dec 23. The event was presided over by the center's chief accountant Shen Yanjie and attracted officials from the provincial commission of economy and information technology, the provincial department of coal, and the provincial commission of State-owned assets supervision and administration. Representatives from coal suppliers and customers also attended the event.

Li Zhisong, director of the power division at the provincial commission of economy and information technology, gave a brief introduction of coal and power developments as well as thermal coal demands in 2015. Bai Youmao, director of the transaction division at the transaction center, explained the process of coal trade and offered information about coal available for power generation in the province. Wang Yuan, director of the settlement division at the transaction center, gave an introduction to financial services at the center, adding that the division will help cut financing cost and improve efficiency. Li Wei explained the trade system 2.0 and promised to offer more convenient and safer online trade.

Thermal coal suppliers and customers exchanged their information and deepened their mutual understanding at the fair. The transaction center offered a platform for win-win cooperation.

Ji Mingde, deputy director of the provincial commission of economy and information technology, put forward his demands for power and coal deals, saying that such companies should better utilize the transaction platform in accordance with the National Development and Reform Commission’s notice. They should make sure deals are signed and well managed to ensure steady supply of coal for power generation and safeguard the healthy development of the national economy.
