Preparations are underway for the "Pingyao 2014 Chinese New Year" and the traditional Spring Festival, with a theme of "Come to Pingyao's old town and feel 1,000 years of history". It will have many things to offer, from an opening ceremony to a lantern festival to a Shehuo performance, dramatic performance, painting and calligraphy exhibits, and video shooting, to folk customs to ring in the New Year with folk culture and traditional Chinese characteristics.
This Chinese New Year, tourists can get a feel Chinese Spring Festival customs, such as a New Year dinner, making dumplings, Spring Festival Strolls, dramatic acts and Shehuo performance, and they can enjoy more than 20 other types of local shows.
