A traditional favorite of the city of Datong, Shanxi province -- pan-fried cakes, will take center stage at the 2014 CCTV Spring Festival Evening Gala, on Jan 30, as a part of an "Extending New Year wishes through cakes" program, a new addition to CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala, which shows different methods and customs of making New Year's cakes in different parts of China, and the rich variety of traditional food and folk customs.
