As the hot summer months set in, Shanghai Playa Maya Water Park - a great place to escape the summer heat - is scheduled to open on June 18.

Early-bird tickets to the water park are currently at a discounted price of only 99 yuan ($14.84) per person. The original price is 249 yuan. The discount will only be offered from June 6 to June 17 and the discounted ticket is only valid from June 18 to July 3.

With many large-scale water amusement facilities and advanced water treatment systems, the water park will offer visitors an enticing getaway from the summer heat. Within the 200,000-square-meter water park, various water rides and family play areas will satisfy visitors of all ages.

The water park will open with reservation requirements and the visitor capacity is capped at 75 percent of the venue's maximum.

Visitors must undergo body temperature, venue code, Suishen code, health code, and travel code checks, and present negative nucleic acid test results taken within 72 hours before entering the park, according to COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control requirements.

From June 18 to July 3, the water park will be opened from 10 am to 7 pm on weekdays and from 10 am to 8 pm on weekends.

Located at Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort, the water park is a popular summer destination in Shanghai for people of all ages.

Public transport:

Take Metro Line 9, get off at Sheshan Station, and transfer to the free shuttle bus. When returning, visitors can take the free shuttle bus at the entrance of the park directly to Sheshan Station.
