Plant resources in East Sheshan Mountain

The area of the nine peaks has nearly 655 species of plants under 123 families and 415 genera. It has the most abundant plant resources in Shanghai.

East Sheshan Mountain: Cinnamomum camphora -Rubus hirsutus Thunb-Potentilla discolor Bge., Carex tristachya-Trachelospermum jasminoides colony: The arborous layer is dominated by Cinnamomum camphora, accompanied by Sapindus, Celtis julianae Schneid, Zelkova serrata, Aphananthe aspera Planch., Pistacia chinensis, Symplocos paniculata, Dalbergia hupeana Hance and Ulmus parvifolia Jacq. and etc.

The shrub layer is dominated by Rubus hirsutus Thunb, accompanied by Rubus lambertianus Ser., Ligustrum sinense Lour., Ilex cornuta Lindl., Serissa foetida, Trachycarpus fortunei, E.pungens, Elaeagnus argyi Levl., Rosa cymosa Tratt., Rosa multiflora Thunb., Rubus incanus and other shrub species.

In the shrub layer, there are also many arbor species, such as: Aphananthe aspera Planch., Cinnamomum camphora, Symplocos paniculata, Sapindus, Dalbergia hupeana Hance, Ulmus parvifolia Jacq., Ligustrum lucidum, Acer buergerianum, Celtis julianae Schneid, Celtis sinensis, Cudrania tricuspidata, Ailanthus altissima, Zelkova serrata, Toxicodendron vernicifluum, Symplocos setchuensis Brand, Firmiana simplex and Mallotus japonicus.

The herbaceous layer is dominated by Potentilla discolor Bge. and Carex tristachya, accompanied by Polygonum hydropiper, Herba Lophatheri, Lygodium japonicum, Commelina communis, Pinellia ternata, PolygonumorientaleL., Desmodium podocarpum DC, Poa acroleuca Steud., Aster ageratoides Turcz, Carex scabrifolia and Aristolochia debilis and etc. Interlayer plants are dominated by Trachelospermum jasminoides.
