Highlights of the inaugural Pudong Reading Festival (Part 1)

A reading competition with the theme "Welcoming the 19th CPC National Congress" will be launched from April and August. From April to May, local readers in the Pudong area are encouraged to offer up videos of themselves reading literary works.

The first round of the contest will begin in June, during which time selected readers will compete in different sub-contest areas. The top participants will enter the final, which is set to be held in August at the Pudong Library.

A summit forum on education kicked off at the Pudong Library on April 23. Yu Lizhong, president of New York University Shanghai, Ge Jianxiong, a professor at Fudan University, and Bao Pengshan, a noted Chinese cultural scholar attended the event and shared their educational philosophies.

In addition, more lectures are set to be held through August which will held on various themes such as culture, history, and parent-child reading.
