There will be the Marintec China 2015, Dec 1 – 4, at Shanghai's New International Expo Center in the Pudong New District, the Pudong Times has reported on Sept 23, organized by the Shanghai Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers and the UK's United Business Media.

The event, which started in 1981, is held every two years and is the largest and most authoritative maritime trade fair in Asia. Now, with three decades of development it has become an important connection for China with other major shipping countries and has helped promote cooperation and exchanges in maritime technology, trade, financing and environmental protection.

The organizers say it will have an exhibition area of more than 80,000 square meters and is expected to attract some 2,000 exhibitors, for a 14 percent year-on-year increase, and 60,000 visitors. Greek and Panama will be taking part for the first time.

At the same time, in line with China's "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" strategy, the organizers say they will have a maritime forum and a photo exhibition to give participants a better understanding of the strategy.
