The three-day China International Travel Mart (CITM) opened in Shanghai on Nov 15 this year. It is hosted by the National Tourism Administration of China, Civil Aviation Administration of China and Shanghai municipal government.
Led by the city’s tourism bureau, Lijiang attended CITM 2012 together with brand hotels and travel agencies in Lijiang. The delegation sought to promote its world-famous tourist attractions, new tourism products, holiday products, and scenic spots and tours, including the Old Town of Lijiang, Yulong Snow Mountain, the Lugu Lake Tour with Mosuo Customs and the Laojun Mountain Eco-Experience Tour.
As the largest and most influential travel market in the Asia-Pacific, the travel mart this year attracted 104 countries and regions. The exhibition hall covers an area of 57,500 square meters and includes 2,514 booths; 1,582 booths represent domestic cities and agencies and 932 booths represent international participants.
More than 1,200 buyers from 40 countries got involved in talks and negotiations. Participants come from various trade sectors, including government tourism administrations, travel agencies, hotels, scenic spots, airlines, cruise companies, travel websites and booking systems.
CITM 2013 will be held in Kunming, Yunnan province.
