Old Town of Lijiang expands to 7.28 sq km

The proposal that the area of Lijiang Old Town should get expanded to 7.28 square kilometers was passed in the 36th World Heritage Convention in St. Petersburg, Russia on Oct 18, said the Lijiang Daily reporter citing an official from the Lijiang Protection Administration.

The World Heritage Committee of UNESCO passed the proposal that the territory of Lijiang should be regulated. The proposal was approved after examination of related documents on June 24 to July 6.
